width of places list

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the width of the vertical list which displays all of the places. I have added 23 places so there is a vertical slider which is fine but I would like to make the list slightly wider so there is no need for a horizontal slider.

Also, I have listed website and telephone details onto each place but they do not show up when you hover over one of them. How can I set it so these details appear?
